McKenna Warner
I grew up in a family full of teachers, so I have been in a classroom since I was 18 months old. My fiancé Andy and I have six wonderful children between us! Three beautiful girls (Daphne, Edith, and Luna) and three handsome boys (Edward, Elliot, and August). We also have a dog-named Penny. As a mom of six, I know how important it is to find just the right school. My teaching career began back in 2009 as a lead early-preschool teacher. I spent five years developing my repertoire of skills in that position and learning how to connect with my students and their parents. In 2013, I transferred to HEB Public Schools as a reading specialist for kindergarten through fifth grade. I learned extensive reading skills from exceptional mentors I had during my time there. Childbirth led me back to a preschool environment. In 2018, I stepped into my first administrative role as a Master Teacher. From then to now, I have worked in administration as an Assistant School Director. Managing schools during the early days of the pandemic was challenging, but my school was selected to remain open to care for the hospital workers and first responders. I was honored to do a small part in fighting to maintain normalcy for our children. I am working to finish my Child Development Associates Degree, and I will be returning to school in the spring to start my Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education and Development. In my free time, I am an avid baker and collector of all things vintage /retro. I enjoy antiquing, going to concerts, reading, traveling, cooking, and spending time with my children and family. I am devoted to fostering a love of learning in your children, and creating a warm and welcoming environment for every child entrusted to us. I look forward to getting to know all of the Carpe Diem families and helping your children flourish and grow through learning.
