At Carpe Diem Private Preschool, Your Child Will Discover the Joy of Learning Through Play, Curiosity, & Connection

Who We Are

At Carpe Diem Private Preschool, we know the early years shape so much more than academics. They shape how your child feels about themselves, how they connect with others, and how confidently they step into new experiences. That is why families across the Austin and Dallas metro areas choose our school for something deeper than traditional child care. Here, your child is encouraged to ask questions, think independently, build meaningful friendships, and feel genuinely comfortable being themselves. With small class sizes, caring educators, and thoughtfully designed learning experiences, we create an environment where your little one can feel secure, supported, and excited to discover something new every day.

My child likes going to school every day. Knowing he’s in a safe environment that he enjoys is huge. There are also a lot of activities throughout the day that I think he loves.

Care and culture

Our Story

Carpe Diem was built on a simple but meaningful belief that the earliest years of your child's life are full of extraordinary potential and deserve to be honored with the highest quality of care and education. Our name itself, Carpe Diem, reflects our commitment to seizing each moment of these important early years and turning everyday experiences into opportunities for joyful, lasting learning.

From our very first classroom in Richardson, TX, to our growing community of campuses across Texas, our purpose has stayed the same. We are here to nurture your child as a whole person, supporting their academic, social, emotional, and physical development through hands-on exploration and meaningful play. Our research-based curriculum is rooted in experiential and project-based learning, where your little one is invited to explore real ideas, ask questions, and make discoveries that connect to the world around them.

Myesha Butts, our School Leader at our Cedar Park and Leander, TX, Campus, shares, "Being a part of early education for America's youth means having the opportunity to shape the foundation of a child's lifelong learning journey. It's about more than teaching letters and numbers. It's about nurturing curiosity, confidence, and a love for learning at a stage when development is most critical."

As our school community has grown and become part of the Endeavor Schools family, the heart of who we are has remained exactly the same. We are still deeply committed to helping your child feel known, supported, and inspired every single day.

Our Mission

Our mission is to unleash individual potential so that every child we serve can truly thrive. We are dedicated to providing a high-quality early education experience that nurtures the whole child academically, socially, and emotionally. Through meaningful, project-based learning and intentional teaching, we create a supportive environment where your little one will build a strong foundation of skills, confidence, and curiosity that will carry them through kindergarten and far beyond.

Our Vision

We want every child who walks through our doors to feel safe, happy, and excited to learn. When your little one feels a sense of belonging and trust, they naturally begin to take healthy risks, build friendships, ask thoughtful questions, and grow into a confident learner. Our vision is to be the kind of school where your child finds their voice, where your family feels genuinely welcomed, and where the love of learning that begins here continues to grow for a lifetime.

Our Curriculum

Our interdisciplinary curriculum is designed around experiential and project-based learning, giving your child rich opportunities to explore science, technology, engineering, mathematics, language, literacy, and the arts in deeply connected ways. Rather than completing isolated worksheets, your little one might embark on a project like Exploring Museums, where they strengthen literacy while diving into books, creating exhibits, and designing their very own class museum. This kind of learning sparks natural curiosity and helps your child develop a deep, lasting understanding that goes far beyond memorization. According to the Institute of Education Sciences, high-quality early childhood education supports social-emotional development, executive functioning, and emotion recognition, helping children build confidence, self-regulation, and positive relationships from an early age. This is precisely what our teaching philosophy focuses on.

What Makes Our School Different

Many families searching for the right preschool across Texas tell us they are not just looking for academics. You are looking for peace of mind, a real human connection, and a school that genuinely sees and respects your child. That is the heart of why families choose Carpe Diem.

At our school, every classroom is led by a degreed teacher supported by experienced assistants trained in early childhood education. Our smaller class sizes and low student-to-teacher ratios give our team the time and space to truly know your child. Your little one will be greeted by name each morning, and our team will take the time to learn what makes your child light up, what challenges them, and what motivates them to keep growing.

Barb Sagehorn, our School Leader at our Frisco, TX, Campus, has been part of the Carpe Diem family since 2003 and explains, "By creating strong relationships and a feeling of teamwork and belonging, we create a place where children feel safe, secure, and loved. It is then that learning can really take place."

Our learning environment is intentionally designed to be a teacher in itself. From beautiful indoor classrooms and a Children's Literacy Center to our thoughtfully equipped outdoor spaces, every detail is meant to spark curiosity, encourage exploration, and support your child's natural way of learning. Throughout the day, your child will experience a variety of enriching spaces, including music, Spanish, tinker rooms, activity rooms, and age-appropriate playgrounds, surrounding them with new opportunities to discover, create, and build confidence.

We approach learning this way because we know every child experiences the world differently. Your little one has their own pace, personality, interests, and unique way of expressing themselves, and our environment is thoughtfully created to support and celebrate exactly who they are becoming.

Early Childhood Leadership & Staff

One of the biggest concerns we hear from parents before enrollment is whether their child will truly be known, loved, and supported by the people caring for them each day. At Carpe Diem, we take that responsibility to heart. Our educators hold degrees and credentials in early childhood education, complete state-required certifications, and participate in 30 to 36 hours of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) each year through our Endeavor training programs. Every teacher is CPR and First Aid certified and trained in our pillars of relational pedagogy, developmentally appropriate practices, and inspiring learning environments.
